It was a quick but unexpected fix and it took a while to get the tension just right to enable the lockup feature so I dropped a star rating on this.

A few off target arrows from fletching contact before I realized the reduced tension was preventing the whale tail from dropping fully. It did have one draw back this spring during a 3D shoot. 3 different brands of arrows at any poundage all bullet holes through paper no changes to rest needed like the ripcord it replaced. This Smackdown rest installed in just a few minutes and had perfect bullet holes and flight after one minor change from eyeballing setting done at the install. The ripcord had to be retuned when I switched arrow brands (hunting vs target arrows) so much so that I had to drop poundage to prevent fletching contact. I will be replacing the string with orange when I swap out my strings this year.īut other then that amazingly built and super easy to tune.īought this last winter for my new bowtech to replace a top of the line ripcord. Skip the trying phase and just grab yourself a QAD I am not a bit sorry I did. If I was to choose what did it I would say it was the new rest.Īs I have not even sighted in the new sights 100% and shooting a tad high. I went from groupings about 4 inches apart to landing shot after shot side by side. Well it was close to dark so I opted to shoot in my shop. New peep, new sight and this rest I high tailed it home to my shooting range in my backyard. Well after he got all my stuff installed I had got for my bow. I was using a Whisker Biscuit and did not mind it at all.

At first I was interested in the HX but he explained to me about the QAD so I decided to take his advice since he had one and told me how little he has had to do it in the last 6 years. While talking to an outfitter at the Post Fals store I asked about a new rest as well.
APACHE DROP AWAY ARROW REST UPGRADE
So I was in at Cabelas wanting to upgrade my sight from a 3 pin to a 5 pin. When I shoot at an outdoor range at 33 degrees, I get more “fails”. and by the way, this new QAD Hunter functions better in an indoor range that is warm. The last thing I want in a hunting situation is an errant shot to wound an animal. But for now, I’ve lost confidence for the QAD Hunter on a dual cam (Hybrid Cam) bow (the PSE Drive X). I will take up QAD on their offer to inspect, repair or replace the arrow rest. My first QAD Hunter functions well on my single cam bow. They also state that the QAD Hunter has “bounce back” problems. They state the problem is that my new PSE Drive X with two hybrid cams is too fast for this arrow rest.
APACHE DROP AWAY ARROW REST PRO
I had this QAD Arrow Rest installed at a local pro shop in Denver. They responded fast!! And they agreed to take the return of the arrow rest and fix it. This recent purchase I bought during this month (February 2019). By failing I mean the arrow smacks the launcher causing erratic arrow flight (usually downward). This second QAD Hunter I put on my PSE Drive X fails about every 10th shot. Yes, the exact same arrow rest on my PSE Brute X functions perfectly every time and has done so for six years. I purchased this QAD HUNTER arrow rest because I had a good experience with the EXACT same arrow rest on my PSE Brute X about six years ago.
